The MCDGH Pharmacy manages the procurement, storage, dispensing, compounding, preparation, distribution and inventory of medications in the hospital in order to ensure an adequate supply of quality medicines and provide the therapeutic needs of our patients.
The practice of the department includes promotion of medication safety and efficacy in the hospital at all times through assessment and monitoring of pharmaceutical services performed by legally-qualified, professional, and competent pharmacists.
In coordination with the pharmacy and therapeutics committee, the department oversees the selection of quality and pharmacoeconomical drug products, the rational use of medications, and monitoring of our patients’ overall drug therapy.
